Julia Ryjanova is a Russian and Australian chess player and coach with the title of Woman Grandmaster (WGM).

  • Julia became a WGM in 2000
  • Championship of Ural region (Russian Women’s Championship 1st league), Orsk, Russia, 2000 – 1st place
  • Russian Women’s Championship final, Elista, Russia, 2000 – 3rd, bronze medal
  • European Women’s Championships, Warsaw, Poland, 2001 – qualified for Women’s World Championship 2001
  • Achieved a world ranking of #35th in October 2002 with a 2409 FIDE rating
  • Won bronze medal in Russian Women’s Championship (2000)
  • Captain of the Qatari Women’s chess team in 2008 – 2017 including World Chess Olympiads – Dresden, Germany, 2008; Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia, 2010; Istanbul, Turkey, 2012; Tromso, Norway, 2014; Baku, Azerbaijan, 2016
  • Awarded as the best women’s team of Qatar by Qatar Olympic Committee in 2008
  • Asian Chess Federation Women’s Masters (Melbourne, 2015) – 1st place
  • In 2017 transferred federations to represent Australia
  • Participated in the World Chess Olympiad 2018 (Batumi) and 2022 (Chennai) as a member of the Australian Women’s team.
